Andy Whitfield is Called a Champion by Lucy Lawless

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Andy Whitfield…We were fortunate to have worked with Andy in Spartacus and came to know that the man who played a champion on-screen was also a champion in his own life. Andy was an inspiration to all of us as he faced this very personal battle with courage, strength and grace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and fans.” Lucy was a co-star and was visibly upset.  The late star was referred to as a gentleman who never said a bad word about anyone. He was also a gifted photographer. The late actor is survived by two children."

Note from Moderator of Andy Whitfield's Unofficial Fan site:

Andy Whitfield, a man who touched many hearts with inspiration of his fight, on and off-screen. His onscreen role as Spartacus gave us a glimpse of who his character may have been. Warrior, man of ethics and morals…a family man. As for off-screen, we held our breath as we waited word about his return to acting, never doubting of that return. Little did we know that Andy had gracefully bowed out with dignity on September 11, 2011 while the world paid tribute to 9-11.

We look to others for strength and inspiration throughout our lives and Andy was our man. When they are gone from us we try to rationalize …understand why. I truly feel that Andy was at peace in his last moments and believe that he had graciously taken what life had given him and used it to the best of his ability. He would want others to live the same—with a hunger and zeal that never dies. Andy will forever stay in each and every heart. Remember to fight for what is right and love those who bless your life. Carry a pride and with valiance that no others can stamp out. Be righteous but forgiving ….be that warrior, no matter what battle is placed front of your path.

Again, I personally thank everyone one for the intercessory prayers that no doubt gave Andy  strength to finally find that peace.

Rest in Peace, my man, and most admired warrior!

Andy Whitfield - Peacefully Surrounded by Love

"On a beautiful sunny Sydney spring morning, surrounded by his family, in the arms of his loving wife, our beautiful young warrior Andy Whitfield lost his 18 month battle with lymphoma cancer," Whitfield's wife Vashti said in a statement. "He passed peacefully surrounded by love. Thank you to all his fans whose love and support have help carry him to this point. He will be remembered as the inspiring, courageous and gentle man, father and husband he was."

Cheerio, all! Haven't stopped in for some time to remind others of a moment in supplication for strength and renewal, not just for Andy and his family but our own well-being. :)

The New Guys: The Diverse Next Generation Of Action Stars 27Share

http://www.hollywood.com/news/New_Action_Stars_Ethnic_Jason_Momoa_Idris_Elba_Donald_Glover/7830664

"Put Sam Worthington, Chris Pine, and Andy Whitfield in a line, I’m not sure I could tell them apart."

What are you kidding me! Andy is one in a million. He's a star that's so unique that he has created the Aussie art of acting; totally sexy and desirable to see. He's brought the popularity and interest of the gladiator, the era of roman times popular. More and more movies are trying to equal the quality star of Spartacus; Blood and Sand. Obviously this writer, Natalie, has no idea what she's talking about!

Emmys 2011: Alterna-Emmys Staff Picks

Spartacus show
Spartacus
Spartacus is not the most highbrow show. The first few episodes earned the series a reputation for gratuitous nudity, violence, and sex. But beneath that scandalous outer layer was a clever and emotionally wrenching show that took risks few established series would. The second season managed to continue that trend, despite the loss of charismatic lead actor Andy Whitfield. While the star’s unfortunate cancer diagnosis forced the series to improvise a prequel series, creator Steven S. DeKnight took advantage of the situation to flesh out the characters in new, exciting ways. And boy, when we say “exciting," we mean it. There are no half-measures in classical Rome. -Natalie Silverman

Of Course, Andy, we were behind ya' every step of the way with Sparatacus; and remember we are no different than now! Get strong and let's hear an Urrgh!

New ‘Spartacus: Vengeance’ Trailer Is Released

Spartacus returns to STARZ in January 2012 and I'm sure that Andy wishes the best for them with the upcoming season--so in light of that--I'm posting the trailer release for "Spartacus: Vengeance".

Like an individual had commented, below the flickcast link and I would have to agree..."Liam McIntyre looks good as "Spartacus" but will miss Andy Whitfield"...no doubt. No one will ever be able to replace the roll of Spartacus. Our boy, Andy, managed to inherently assimilate a character of heart and soul with such a refined finesse that it appeared all too natural. One could view his roll as a breathtaking piece of artwork--the pièce de résistance, magnifico!

Okay, maybe I'm getting a bit carried away, but what the heck....Here's the trailer below for "Spartacus: Vengenance". Happy viewing and have a blessed day with loved ones filling in your thoughts, and of course, prayers for Andy and his as well.

Spartacus Roll Call: Andy Whitfield "Doing Very Well," Liam McIntyre Embraced

Andy Whitfield may not have attended the Spartacus: Vengeance panel at Comic-Con on Friday, but his presence was still felt by fans and former castmates who missed his performance as the iconic slave on the first season of the Starz sword-and-sandal drama. The actor had dropped out of the series to battle non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

"He's doing very well, for what I hear," executive producer Steven S. DeKnight told the audience. "Obviously he's very private about his health, so I can't go into details. We have joked with each other about working together again. ... He'd respond, something where he doesn't have to take his clothes off."

Hollywood Exclusive by Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith

Below taken from original link: http://www.creators.com/lifestylefeatures/fashion-and-entertainment/hollywood-exclusive/release-saturday-july-16-17-2011.html

DEAR STACY: How is Andy Whitfield? — Jordan B., Newark, N.J.

DEAR JORDAN: The "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" actor, who had to drop out of the Starz series permanently in September to fight a recurrence of his Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, has been keeping a low profile. However, series creator Steven S. DeKnight told a group at an Emmy consideration screening put on by The Wrap in June that he and Whitfield have been talking about collaborating on another project. Said DeKnight: "I have the utmost faith that Andy and I will work together again." We certainly hope they can.

Quotes to Note

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."
— J.R.R. Tolkien (The Fellowship of the Ring)

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."
— John Lennon

"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

Our letter to Andy

Our letter to Andy,

What I'm posting comes from the heart and I'm sure many others feel the same way, so I will refer to me as we.

Lately, there hasn't been much word on how you're doing but we respect your privacy and the respite with which you are taking and experiencing anew.

Our thoughts are with you in your daily journey. Take time to enjoy the smaller things in life that usually are overlooked and most times become the most important and precious to us. We pray that you keep up that great spirit of yours; for it is in our fight that we all become stronger, wiser and more resilient in order to triumph over adversity. Remember to take each day in easy pleasure and contentment. Again, know that our prayers and wishes go out to you and your family. And please, find comfort, love and happiness in all you do.

Lastly, we thank you for your inspiration given to us on-screen but more so off-screen.

God Bless you and your family!

Hugs,
Us

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena –the verdict on the finale by Phelim O'Neil

This article gives overview after Andy's time off. I hope the show is doing well since Andy's portrayal of Spartacus made it what it is today. Some might disagree. I personally can't watch the show without Andy. I might sound like a prude or someone that is standing loyal by Andy's side...well, I just might be. I posted this article link for those who are interested in a writer's point of view in how the new episodes ranked.

There is another story about one of the cast, Manu Bennett, that tells of their personal battles before filming Spartacus; Blood and Sand. I thought it heartfelt, sincere and very inspirational.

Stay strong Andy's and keep that fighting spirit. Again, we're rooting for you!

"I never thought I would be glad to have received a diagnosis of lung cancer. But if I hadn’t, I probably would have never learned that we don’t need to get cancer or any of the other diseases known to man, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis.

Dr. Lorraine Day, a medical doctor had an advanced case of breast cancer and refused chemo-therapy or radiation, and God showed her His method of healing naturally and keeping the body from contracting any other diseases. I have her DVD titled “You Can’t Improve On God,” and it is a real eye opener. If you would like to order a copy, call 1-800- 574-2437. It sells for $19.95 plus $7.50 for S & H. Check out the attachment. I am confident that the Lord is healing me, and I am following His plan to restore my immune system by eating and drinking properly according to the information I received from Dr. Days DVD. If you know of anyone that may benefit from this information, please pass it on."

"Hello,

I'm writing you because I feel you might have a better chance to get
this info to the actor Andy Whitefield or someone close to him, than I
could.
I'm a recent fan of the Spartacus and was moved by the actors
performance. When I heard of his cancer I had the same reaction I get
whenever I hear anyone is sicken with the illness. I do whatever I can
to tell them about these natural health treatments that completely rid
the person of cancer, I was also excited by the thought that if this
news gets to him in time it will be a huge vehicle to spread this life
saving news to the world.

I'm not a health practitioner or salesman of any sort i'm just a fan
of his who has struggled half of my life with health problems and have
became aware of an entire world of alternative health concept that
much of the world is kept in the dark about.

I will tell you of these phenomena and if you are convinced of their
efficacy please pass the message along, although I would like remain
anonymous, because my health issues havn't been solved yet and putting
drawing too much attention to myself in the united states right now
would put my own treatment at risk.

There is a currently a cancer protocol spreading around the world,
albeit slowly involving a concentrated marijuana extract. I may have
been skeptical of this had I not heard about it by my neighbor who
happens to be an Israeli surgeon, who is currently working along with
the american college of physicians, a group of over 100,000 american
medical Dr's. to help this treatment gain legitimacy.

I was told to watch this video which explains the protocol and
how it came about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjhT9282-Tw
In watching the video and realizing the people in it are neither
hippies or the average marijuana proponents rather farmers who have
just been stricken with cancer but now cured. I was even more less
skeptical.

After watching 10 people in my own community try the and have
their cancer taken under complete control and cured I no longer have
any more skepticism and do what I can to spread the message.

The second treatment protocol involves a supplement much easier to
obtain. Please watch this video as an explanation to it. It mostly
touches on vitamin C treatments however the most important part of the
protocol is the delivery method involving liposomes. He doesn't touch
on it until the end video livon labs is the leader in the field if
your interested
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gdm7AS8Qa-s.

Please write me back if you have any questions, I hope the info takes
hold if not for the actors benefit maybe this info will come in handy
at some point in your life."

A thought for the day

Prayers from around the world filter up to the heavens for intercessory. We mustn't forget as individuals, we are here to do for others, to bring them laughter or just to make them smile. Giving of oneself is the greatest gift one can give.

Andy, stay strong, and determined.

Andy Whitfield Attacking Cancer like a True Champion

Spartacus Gods of the Arena Premiere

Many watched the 'Spartacus Gods of the Arena' premiere with engaging anticipation and for most there was a void of Andy being absent from it.

Andy stay strong, remain determined and know that many prayers are with you.

It can be strange how we go through our lives in rush-fervent mode and never look around to who or what is around us.

Breath, we sometimes tell ourselves. Enjoy this very moment and smile.

So we do, feeling better. A little lighter and carry on with our day

A favorite saying, "Love when hated, laugh when crying and try not to take this life too seriously or you'll scream" ~me.

Indeed.

Remember our journey as an adventurous one. A moment in time when we slow our hurry, breath deeply, love, laugh and in life, remain truly triumphant.
